THE MOMENT THE COCOON CLOSES

Wrapped so completely, you can't see anything at all, only darkness and sensation. You may lie long, straight and still, other times, curl instinctively into a fetal position. Inside that warm cocoon, you are small in the best way, not diminished, but simplified. Your world narrows to warmth, pressure, and the steady rhythm of your own warm breathing.
Your heart slows, steadies, no longer racing to meet the outside world. There is nothing to watch for, nothing to react to. Only breath. Only being. The tightness isn't fear; it's trust. It's the relief of being held so completely that nothing else can reach you.
Returning to something deeply primal, where the noise of the outside world fades away and your thoughts are finally free of clutter and noise.
Sometimes, without even realizing it, you'll drift off into a peacefull deep sleep - gently, naturally. You are exactly where you belong. Safe enough to let go.
